Researchers tested BDET (NBMI) on acid mine drainage from an abandoned coal mine in Pikeville, Kentucky. Dissolved iron at the borehole fell from 194 ppm to below the 0.009 ppm detection limit within 20 hours.
University of Kentucky researchers paired Merloc B9 (NBMI) with zerovalent iron in a filtration column. On hand-pumped wells in West Bengal, India, it cut arsenic from as high as 220 ppb to below 5 ppb.
